David H. Carlson is Dean of the Texas A&M University Libraries and holds the Sterling C. Evans Endowed Chair in Library Administration. Mr. Carlson oversees five on-campus library facilities including the international Qatar Campus Library. He directs online and face-to-face services in support of research and study needs of both students and faculty across campus. From 2001 to 2012, Mr. Carlson served as professor and Dean of Library Affairs for Morris Library at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) in Carbondale, Illinois. He was responsible for overall administration and operations of the Morris Library, including library support services, information services, special collections, library advancement and development. Morris Library shares several memberships with the A&M libraries in key organizations including the Association of Research Libraries and the Greater Western Libraries Alliance. Mr. Carlson has published extensively in library management, information network security, library automation and library and vendor relations.
